We would LOVE to be able to properly
introduce our newest project pony to you!
But we can't properly introduce him to you,
because this cute little guy doesn't have a name!
We think it will be fun to let someone else name this pony.
So we've decided to hold a contest!
Here's how YOU can participate:
1. Take a good look at the pony in the picture above, the pictures below, and read our brief description of what we know about the pony so far.
2. Email us at welltrainedponies@gmail.com
3. In the "subject line" of your email, type "PONY NAME: (then type whatever you think the name should be.)"
For example:
Pony name: "Silver"
That's it! Easy! Help us out, please! Dusty and Ansley will read through all the names suggested. On September 23, 2011, around 5 pm, Dusty and Ansley will each pick 3 names that they like the best from the list. They will write those names onto small slips of paper, and then Dusty's little brother will draw one of the slips of paper from a hat. At that point, our new pony will have a name!
We can't wait for this guy to have a name!!!!!!
This little gelding came to live with us last night, so we don't know that much about him. He stands 11.2 hands high.
What we do know is that he is a very curious pony. He's also kind of a clown! He hasn't been trained to do anything other than lead, and he doesn't really lead that well yet. We spent about 3 hours working with him today, and found that he's not shy, he doesn't act scared or nervous around us, and he LOVES to eat his hay. We believe he is 5 years old, but have not had that confirmed yet.
As you can see, we don't know much about him. What we do know is that we are looking forward to working with him and teaching him everything he needs to know to become a well trained, useful pony. We will then offer this pony for sale. Please be patient with us...this pony is going to be a big project! He's got a lot to learn, and a lot to teach us! We plan to keep this site updated with videos and pictures of his progress at least once a week, if not more. Be sure to bookmark our site and watch us work with him!
The "winner" of the contest will receive an email from us letting them know that they won the contest.
What will the winner win????
How about this:
Yes, we know the picture didn't take well. What "this" is is a bracelet from "The Trail of Painted Ponies" collection. It's got black and silver beads on it, and a silver horse that sits on a purple colored diamond shape. The pattern repeats all the way around the bracelet. We think it's a cute bracelet, and hope you do too!
So go ahead and submit a suggestion to name him! Have fun and be creative! Remember, this pony is a gelding, so no girly names, please! We would like the name to be unique and dignified.
Have fun, and thanks for participating!!!
***Please do not mistake this pony for "Doofus," Dusty's riding pony. "Doofus" is a mare, and is not for sale.
***Obscene or offensive emails will be reported, blocked, and deleted.
***If more than one person submits the same pony name and that pony name is picked from the hat, all of the people who submitted that name will have their email addresses put on slips of paper and then drawn from the hat.
***There will only be one winner of this contest.
***We will notify the winner of the contest by replying back to the email they sent us with the suggested pony name in the subject line. In order to receive this bracelet, the winner MUST provide us with their mailing address. We will pay the shipping costs for the bracelet, and PROMISE to use your mailing address ONLY to mail the bracelet to you. We will not share your personal information with anyone.
OK, I'll forget R2D2...would probably confuse the pony. But I have 3 others. In no particular order: McFly...don't remember which show, but that was a white horse when I was your age...or maybe it only looked white because the tv was only b&w. Mr.Ed, while I don't expect this pony will talk, it will entertain our neighbor...lol. Kotzebue (maybe KotZ for short). In keeping with a local tradition, that is a town in Northern Alaska, where it is always white!
